The soldier searching the Iraqi is a true hero. I was tasked with writing a story on him. He saved the lives of two soldiers and an Iraqi Police officer. They were conducting a boat patrol when one of them sunk. He jumped into the water and pulled three people to safety. He has one regret, however, and that was that he couldn't save the fourth person, who drowned in the Tigris River. Spc. Jeff Newberry received the Soldier's Medal for his heroism that cold day in January.
