Jane Fonda

VFW is proactively speaking out against Fonda's latest anti-war tour...

Jane Fonda is back on the anti-war trail. Citing support from veterans in her book-signing audiences, Fonda is planning a nation-wide bus tour beginning next spring to protest the war in Iraq. According to Fonda, "numerous" military veterans had provided the needed encouragement for her to end her silence about the war in Iraq.
VFW Commander in Chief John Furgess, who appeared on ABC's Good Morning America shortly after Fonda's July 25 announcement, said her proposed protests would only hurt those closest to the war: America's military men and women in uniform.
"Jane Fonda's anti-war stance back in the 70's helped the North Vietnamese prolong the war," Furgess, a Vietnam veteran, said. "Let her tell the loved ones of a 18-year-old soldier killed by a roadside bomb that his/her death wasn't worth the cause."

Disgusting, she is. Brings to mind a bumper sticker we saw some years ago, that I will never forget. I am not sure if it is the sticker I will never forget, or my dad's reaction to it. (I can STILL see the laughing uproar/total agreement/tirade of remarks regarding her in minds eye)

Anyway, the bumper sticker boldly (and profoundly) stated:

Feed Jane Fonda To The Whales!

We had to put up with her crap 30 something years ago, Casanova. She's the reason so many soldiers returning from Viet Nam were spit on instead of honored for their service. She disgusts me!!! I can't believe she's going to do it again, but she won't have the effect now that she had then...no one gives a shit about what she has to say anymore. But one thing's for sure...once a traitorous witch, always a traitorous witch...and that's putting it nicely.

Jane Fonda helped prolong the war in Vietnam? That's a new one. That ought to be added to almost every history book about Vietnam, because it's not in history books now.

Surely you-lot are concerned that people are calling for a pull out?

If that's the case don't you need a Jane Fonda? If someone so powerful can help keep you there. Or are you worried about her helping the Durkas?

I suppose it's a lot easier to be angrier at Jane Fonda, rather than anyone important, or about anything that matters in this war.

There is, after all, no reason to blame it on foreign policy when there are liberals and Jane Fonda. Much easier to blame straw-men. Much easier for stupid people to have an enemy to label 'traitorous'.

Why don't you do something useful and try and enlist people? You won't have much success in some places. Despite the big words and bumper stickers.

I'm sorry to be so blunt. But I think that soldiers are the same as the rest of us. Anything else is condesention in the name of 'respecting the troops'. I am not prepared to honor soldiers by not raising difficult issues with them. That is called being patronizing. The majority of people who say honor actually mean worship. People who worship something don't debate with it. That is a worse attitude than the snobby left.

Say what???Where did you get this from?Only a person that doesn't know what honor is and how it feels like, would post something like this.

I understand that she is going to conduct this tour by traveling cross country on a bus. Am I to assume that this bus is powered by vegetable oil?

I could careless what Jane Fonda does. If the anti-war movement has her on their side, then they have already lost.

Personally I feel that this is just another way for her to grab more attention. Fonda would be wise to leave everyone alone. I certainly do not get my politics from Hollywood, or washed-up actresses starving for attention.

She is getting old and needs the attenion, lol.

Every sunday for over two years I go to a *support the troops* rally,we went from 100 people to 20 die hards. We use to have Antis across the street from us,but they left,no one honked for them ;-).

I'd never thought I would love a country more then my own (Germany),but I do.I have lived here in the US 14 years now,and I love it more and more with each single day.

The Jane Fonda's of this country,do not know what they have, the freedoms,etc..

Jane Fonda is a disgrace. She can be anti-war all she wants but when she sits there and looks at the face of a POW while handing over a note about torture of her own nation she needs to be smacked.

There are many ways to make your opinions known without doing the stupid stunts she did. I hope she enjoys her little book promotion, but don't expect me to buy it.

Ok, I have got to clear this up! LOL

I am "Anon 1" but did not mean to be anonymous. I have posted once before, and actually was able to leave my name. I was in a mad rush while posting the other day, and, not taking the time to see how my post went through, left myself in this anonymous situation.

So, while I want to let folks know that I am not the same anon as the one who posted they think it a new one (Jane Fonda prolonging the war in Viet Nam) and the other comments meriting the advice to be more coherent, I do wish to say that perhaps in the future I should also be more coherent, and that would be...learning how to sign off a post with my own name!

So I am not looked on anonymously:)

PS, strykeraunt...I definitely feel what I posted to be the right thing!
