Some random guy

Whoever this "guy" is on this interview, he sure is handsome. You have to wait for the president to stop talking before this handsome guy starts speaking. Did I mention he is handsome?

Gotta echo the last comment, Damn. In all seriousness though thanks to both of you for being part of the broadcast. It's nice to see the local news getting the perspective of someone who has been there.

Interesting broadcast.

I even tediously downloaded Real Player to watch it.

Of course, at the encouragement of seeing someone so handsome, how could I not?

Literally, GOOD TO SEE YOU Smink!
I think the general public needs to hear the Soldier's opinion more. Overheard two conversations at work today that were pure "straight from the MSM anchors mouth". This is all they hear. Sadly they will not go to the effort to find out more.

It would be so easy to cut and run in a tough situation like this, but we need to stay and finish the job. There is no doubt in my mind about that. By doing that, we honor those who have given their lives to make it happen...both our soldiers and the Iraqis who have been slaughtered. It's good to hear the viewpoints of soldiers who have been there done that. It really encourages the families of soldiers who are about to go...at least it does for me. Thank you!!

By the way, I like random stuff, don't you? :)

Didn't realize it was you I saw on the news last night until I read your post today.

Handsome...yes...a true hero...definitely! Thanks for being a great local voice of one who's "been there".

P.S. ...anybody catch Nancy Palosi's (waaa, waaa, waaa) comments afterwards? Always got to throw barbs - what's her solution to keep the country free? Whine?

Smink - you rock!

Okay, Smink, you're cute but you talk funny. I would have sworn after reading your blog that you spoke with a Canadian accent. Funny how the mind works, eh? Now, I have a couple of questions. Why does 'kbug' call you Casanova? Did I miss something in your postings to explain this appellation?

As for the topic at hand, I did not view your President's speech (no TV); but, from what I have read on the net, what else would the man have said? Would anyone have realistically expected President George W. Bush to say he was pulling American troops out of Iraq? No news here.

I look forward to your postings, Smink. Best wishes,

S.N. from BC, Canada

No, SN, you didn't miss anything in the postings that explains why I call him Casanova...... :)

S.N.,

I'm an Okie, but what's funny is I work with a lot of Canadians. And I just love their (your) pronunciation of words. Great people.

kbug,I would say that you are leaving much unsaid and Smink isn't talking, either.

Smink, I am glad you have such a favourable impression of Canadians and the way we speak. To Britians, we sound American and to Americans, we sound British and so we dwell between two nations: one our mother country and the other our powerful neighbour. We have been influenced and shaped by both but hopefully we will continue to follow our own path.

As for your Oklahoma accent, it's cute, too. Have you managed to pick up our "eh" working with all those Canucks? I wouldn't hesitate as it is extremely versatile.

You take care now, eh.

SN,

My client is French-Canadian, so I catch myself speaking a little FrenchEnglo slang every now and then. Seriously, though, Canadians are such good people, especially the farm folks.
