Military blog study

Just in case you didn't know that military blogs were influential, read this: Don’t tread on my blog: A study of military web logs. It's a study from the University of Oklahoma about milblogs. They used information from military bloggers we all read. And in the report it says the Army should monitor all military blogs to make sure bloggers follow operational security.

Smink,

Wow, you're part of an actual scientific paper!

How's it feel to be a lab rat?

Just kidding. (I'm jealous.)

Yeah, Casanova, milblogs are influential...but I didn't really need this report to tell me that. It was nice to see you mentioned, though... :) I've told you before that I never would have known what was really going on in Iraq if it weren't for your milblog. You not only painted a clear picture of the war, you brought everything and everybody to life...the soldiers, the terps, the enemy, the children, the rush of a mission, the humdrum everyday life, the hilarious misadventures in NCO Alley, and the heartbreaking loss of one of our troops. You literally opened my eyes and made me care more than I ever thought possible. Now here I am with my youngest son deployed and a blog of my own...go figure. So, yes, milblogs make a huge impact...but the military needs to encourage them because the impact is a positive one.
